Scale it exactly. Not approximately.

No more eyeballing “1.5x this” and rounding an egg to about one and a half. RecipeTailor scales every ingredient by one exact factor, to the servings you need or the ingredients you already have.

A recipe book built around Tailor.

RecipeTailor keeps a recipe exactly as saved, then layers a scaled plan on top of it whenever you need a different yield—never silently overwriting the original.

Start
Choose one of 100 curated classics, or type or paste in your own recipe.
Tailor
Scale to a new yield, or to the most you have of an ingredient—exactly, not rounded.
Cook
Work through the plan step by step, with timers for the parts that need one.

One exact factor, every ingredient.

Enter a new target yield and RecipeTailor recalculates every scalable ingredient using one precise factor—real arithmetic, not floating-point rounding. When an ingredient like eggs can't divide evenly, it shows two complete whole-number plans side by side, and lets you choose.

Recipe-scaling questions, answered.

What is RecipeTailor?

RecipeTailor is a recipe keeper that scales your recipes exactly—to the number of servings you need, or to make the most of the ingredients you actually have on hand—then walks you through cooking them step by step.

Who should use RecipeTailor?

RecipeTailor is for home cooks who regularly halve, double, or resize recipes; cook for a different number of people; or want to make the largest batch their available ingredients allow. It combines an exact recipe scaler with a private recipe keeper and focused Cooking Mode.

Can RecipeTailor halve, double, or resize a recipe by servings?

Yes. Enter the recipe’s original yield and the servings you want. RecipeTailor applies one exact proportional factor to every scalable ingredient, whether you are halving, doubling, tripling, or changing an awkward yield such as 12 servings to 9.

Can I scale a recipe to what I have instead of what a recipe calls for?

Yes. Tell RecipeTailor the most you have of one or more ingredients, and it finds the largest batch that fits every limit—or anchor the whole recipe to using up one ingredient completely.

How does RecipeTailor handle eggs and other whole ingredients?

When an ingredient cannot divide evenly, RecipeTailor does not quietly round that one item and break the recipe’s proportions. It shows complete whole-number batch options side by side—such as a smaller and larger egg-safe plan—so you can choose the practical result you want.

Do I need my own recipes to start?

No. RecipeTailor ships with a curated starter pack of 100 classic recipes across ten categories, cross-checked against safe cooking temperatures and standard baking ratios. Start from one of those, or type or paste in your own.
